GUN CONTROL
Guns. What can we do about guns? What can we say about guns? We have a right to bare them, but it's against the law to carry them with out permission. Of course criminals, by nature do things that are against the law, so carrying a gun is not a problem for them. If we want to protect ourselves, and equalize our position in the Serengeti with that of the criminals, we are forced to become criminals ourselves.
There is an incessant debate raging about our second amendment rights which are diametrically opposed to those who want to see disarmament. My knee jerk assessment of the situation is to join in the call for the banning of all guns, but we all know that the thugs among us will never play by those rules. So, the only possible option is the total voluntary arming of all peoples. The police cannot protect us from gun carrying bad guys, and they want to protect themselves, by denying the citizenry the option of carrying arms. (I guess they don't want us to be holding if they make an unnecessary DWB traffic stop)
My primary goal is to not be the victim on a Police Report. In order to achieve this goal, I must be able to defend myself, now, since the Police will only show up when it's time to take the report. I would rather their report describes me as "an armed intended victim " If lots of good guys were carrying concealed weapons, then the bad guys would be out numbered. They would have to fear snipers on every corner, everytime that they tried to pull a job. They are not that brave. If they had any heart they would be engaged in the struggle to survive within the rules.
I don't believe in all of the NRA rhetoric, because there is no need for anyone to have any assault weapon for protection against anything short of an army. But for quick resolution of petty crimes I recommend a .57 handgun for everyone.
