The GOP can poo-poo it all
they want, but George W's inability to name the
head's of state, or even t he Vice President of Mexico, the
country that borders his own gubernatorial domain is
a problem. .He claims to have a grasp of world
politics, but I can't see how. If he does not even
know who the world politicians are, how can he know
what they are up to. These are complex situations and
these world leaders, some of them who are nuts, are
not to be taken lightly, unless GW figures that he
can handle any world situation, as the "general
manager" of the United States military. Perhaps
if he took the time to study these situations and
relationships, and he knew what he was going to be up
against, he might not want to be President.
It's this kind of elitist
arrogance that troubled me about his old man. I
worried then that "Ivy League" George
Sr. had never seen a bad day in his life, and could
in no way understand what people were crying about.
Now I see evidence that Junior considers all other
governments as 3rd World, and of no consequence. As
such, he feels no need to even take the time to make
himself aware of their leaders.
I heard a Clinton spokesman
the other day who commented that Bill Clinton "knew"
a million people. I can't remember the names of all
of the interns walking around my office. One GOP
congressman said that "W" is a Presidential
Candidate, and not a Jeopardy contestant. Those were
flowery words, but the situation still stinks. In
spite of all the talk about Clinton being "just
a man" with the same urges as every one, I still
expect a President to be exceptional. I don't want to
see a man become President simply because a bunch of
whakos are mad at Clinton, and thereby "all
Democrats", and are donating big money to the
GOP candidate with the most pure bloodline. |
