SatchA guitar player friend of mine talks about standing outside the window of our rehearsals, back in the day. He claims that watching us roll in with our big cars, and listening to us work out our shows helped motivate him to keep practicing his craft.
In much the same way, when I was a youngster, I used to stand in the alley, outside of a garage on Lexington Ave. This was Satch's place. I used to watch him pull up in his big white Lincoln Mark and then the guys would show up, and start working on the OP show. Satch would make us stand back from the open garage door, because he said we were muffling the sound. So I guess this is how the torch is passed down from generation of musician to generation.
