The Kim Yancey Legal Action

In 1980, after a failed record deal with Arista Records, and limited success of their first single "Free Your Mind", Record Player signed with Forest Grove Productions, a spin-off of the group SUN. With producer Kym Yancey at the helm the group started laying tracks for an album, but personalities started to clash, and half of the group walked off the set - never to return. Forest Grove threatened legal action, and then barred half the group from the remaining project, bringing in Keith Cheetum, and Sheldon Reynolds to finish the tracks.  So far no record deal has developed.
